Wellness & Movement (WAM)

WAM combines a physical fitness program and relevant topics in health education. The health curriculum, based on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health Curriculum Framework, covers physical health, social and emotional health, safety and prevention, and personal and community health. Information is presented through lectures, videos, team building activities and class discussion (and for the 9th grade, a peer education program taught by specially trained students from Harvard, Tufts and other neighboring universities). The physical education component includes a variety of sports and activities to give students an opportunity to exercise during the school day.
