Community Charter School of Cambridge is a public, tuition-free school serving 360 students in grades 6-12. CCSC enrolls new students in grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 only. CCSC students may reside in any city or town in Massachusetts, though Cambridge residents and siblings of current students have preference in our lottery.
Enrollment for the current 2017-18 school year: Our final enrollment lottery for the 2017-2018 school year took place on October 20, 2017. If your student is on the waitlist, and is eligible for enrollment when a seat opens up for them, we will be in contact with you as soon as a seat becomes available.
Enrollment for the 2018-19 school year will begin in January 2019 (lottery date to be determined.) You are welcome to submit an application at this time. Please fill out our online application:
Note: As of February 27, 2017, the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education has limited new enrollment at CCSC to residents of Cambridge and to siblings of students currently attending. At this time, students that apply for admission to CCSC or who are on a waitlist for admission and reside outside of Cambridge and who do not have a sibling currently attending the school will not be offered admission to CCSC. Due to the requirements of the charter school statute, The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education has imposed this limit on enrollment until the percentage of Cambridge residents attending CCSC meets or exceeds 80 percent of total students at the school.
We encourage families who do not reside in Cambridge and whose children do not have siblings currently enrolled at CCSC to stay active on our waitlist, and to update us if your address or other contact information changes. If the enrollment limitations described above change, we will notify you.
