Upcoming MCAS and Benchmark testing at CCSC

MCAS Testing

Students in grade 10 will be participating in MCAS testing for English language arts  on March 21, 22 and 23 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). The testing schedule is below:

Tuesday, March 21

Wednesday, March 22

Thursday, March 23

10th grade: English Language Arts MCAS

10th grade: English Language Arts  MCAS

10th grade: English Language Arts MCAS

Students will be dismissed at 11:38am at the earliest, but may stay until 3:40pm if they are working productively and need the time.

Students will be dismissed at 11:53 at the earliest, but may stay until 3:40pm if they are working productively and need the time.

Students will remain at school for the entirety of the school day.

Benchmark Testing

Students will be taking benchmark exams in each of their core courses Wednesday through Friday, March 29th, 30th, and 31st, and there will be an early dismissal day for students on Monday, April 3rd.  

Dismissal: Dismissal times will vary, and students will receive personalized schedules the week before benchmark exams begin. Please encourage your student to share his/her schedule with you and have a conversation with him/her about how they plan to prepare for these important tests.

Bus Service: Due to the atypical dismissal times, bus service will not run on the Wednesday (3/29) of benchmark exams. There will be bus service at 11:30am on Thursday (3/30), Friday (3/30), and the Monday (4/3) following benchmark exams. 

After School Programming: After school learning centers will not be held on benchmark exam days, but Behavior Reflection will be held on all three benchmark exam days for one hour. 

Lunch: Lunch will be held on Wednesday and Thursday of Benchmarks (3/29 ,3/30) but will not be provided to students on Friday (3/31). The Monday following benchmark exams, 4/3, is an early dismissal day, when students will be dismissed at 11:30 am. 

Preparing for Benchmarks: Please make sure that your child gets good rest before his/her benchmark exams, and that he/she eats breakfast in the morning before each test.
