2011 Summer Reading Challenge for ALL Students

All students are required to read at least one teacher-selected book over the summer, but why stop there?  Summer is a great time to read a few books that you have been eyeing all year.  All CCSC students should read at least two books in addition to their summer reading assignments.  For these two or more extra books, there are only two requirements:

  1. Record your finished books on the Summer Reading Challenge sheet and have a guardian sign it.
  2. Choose books that YOU like to read.

Don’t have any books you want to read? Head to your local library’s teen room or borrow a book from a friend.
Looking for recommendations? Teachers and students recommended books that are attached to the Summer Reading Challenge sheet.  If you don’t find anything you like there, check out these websites:
  • Stuff for the Teen Age – lists of recommended books based on genre (fantasy, romance, urban lit, etc.)
  • TeenReads.com – read reviews, learn about authors, and find out about new books on this blog
  • SummerReading.org – create an avatar to show off and review your most loved and hated books, music, moves, and videos games

The 2012 Summer Reading Challenge will be posted soon.

Please check back at a later date.
