CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior pitcher Louis Bacci struck out 12 and supplied an impressive offensive display going 4 for 4 in CCSC's first game in baseball history. The Cougars took the field Sunday morning sporting brand new "C" hats and were ready for visiting Foxborough Charter, a team with more experience than the players from Cambridge.
Bacci mowed down two in the first as the visitors left two runners stranded off of two hits. CCSC came out swinging and, with two outs, rallied to score the game's first three runs as sophomore catcher Wislens Exilhomme, Bacci, sophomore center fielder Geo Morgan, and junior third baseman Steven Rodenas combined for four hits.
Foxborough came back and eventually took the lead 6-4 in the top of the sixth inning. However, the resilient Cougars put together an exciting span highlighted by a line drive double by freshman shortstop Emmanuel Saez and a monster triple by Exilhomme. A Bacci RBI scored the Cougar catcher to send the game into an extra inning. The final ended 8-6 as CCSC was unable to capitalize on a few plays.

"We played better than expected," Bacci said. "We need to work on base running and cut down on mistakes in the field, but I thought we did well considering it was our first game."
Exilhomme scored two runs in the game and was a homerun short of the cycle. Both Morgan and Rodenas went 2 for 4 and each had one RBI. Morgan also stole two bases.
CCSC will play Prospect Hill next Sunday at 9:30 am at St. Peter's Field in Cambridge.
