Coaches
#3 BAYOAN GARCIA
Point Guard

Class:

Junior

Height:

5-10

Hometown:

Cambridge

Favorite Athlete:

Kobe Bryant

Coach's Comments:

Bayoan is what makes our team go. The leadership, energy, and tenacity that he brings onto the court is a big reason why we won our tournament championship and managed to stay competitive in nearly every game we played this season. Bayoan's instincts and speed allow him to finish strong around the basket, but he will need to work hard in the off-season on developing his outside shot and left hand in order to take his game to the next level.

Highlights:

team captain...started all 20 games in 06-07 and all 19 in 07-08...named to MCSAO all-league team in 2007 and 2008...led team in scoring as sophomore and junior with 13 ppg... has over 500 points in career (250 as a soph and 254 as a junior)...leading playmaker with 74 assists and 47 steals in 2007-08...broke own school record for steals and points in a season in '08...unanimously selected by league coaches as MVP of the 2007 MCSAO Tournament...scored a season high 26 points at Champion Charter in '07 and broke record with 27 points in '08 playoffs against Pacific Rim...dished out a career high seven assists in MCSAO finals against Health Careers Academy...recorded five steals per game three times in 06-07...career high in rebounds is nine...had a 2:1 assist:turnover ratio in 2007 MCSAO playoffs

Personal:

Bayoan Garcia was born on December 13, 1989 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He really enjoys being on the basketball team and believes that losing helps him learn how to improve his game. He says that winners don’t expect to lose, but they learn from their losses.

The one event that inspired Garcia to play basketball was the 1996 NBA championship game where Michael Jordan and the Bulls beat the Utah Jazz.
