Geo Morgan was everywhere on Friday night
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- An early 11-0 lead on Friday night by visiting Health Careers Academy enabled a win over the CCSC boys basketball team in Rockwell Cage. Despite a powerful comeback, even after being down 15-1, HCA closed the game, 43-33.
Early turnovers by the Cougars and a series of lay-ups by the visitors keyed HCA's victory, improving its record to 6-1. CCSC found its rhythm after several minutes, keeping the game within a couple of possessions. HCA only led by six at the half, 24-18. The Cougars pulled to within one possession late in the second half; however, the team would get no closer as HCA converted key baskets.
Freshman Geo Morgan scored a career high 17 points on 8 of 10 shooting for CCSC. He also hauled in eight rebounds. Sophomore Bayoan Garcia scored eight points and had a team best nine rebounds. CCSC (2-5) takes on Champion Charter (1-4) at home ths Friday.
