Coach Hurst-Hiller gives instructions to the boys
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The CCSC Boys Basketball team played an amazing game but had a disappointing loss Friday night against Prospect Hill Academy (9-3).  The final score was 34-46.

The game started off strong with CCSC scoring the first points of the game.  At the end of the first half, CCSC tied PHA 19-19.  As a team, the Cougars hit 13 out of 40 field goals. Although PHA soon pulled ahead, CCSC still played aggressively.  Even though the Cougars had a game total of 22 turnovers, CCSC still played a great game.  The Cougars hit a season high 73% of their free throws.  Overall it was great effort by the Cougars.

Geo Morgan played an amazing game with 11 points and four steals.  Bayoan Garcia added ten points and made four out of five free-throws.  Michael Elysee also provided four points.  Both Michael and Chuck Tibbs led the team in defensive rebounds, both contributing five.

“I was proud of the way we played during the first half,” said Boys’ Coach Caleb Hurst-Hiller.  “We were smart, played as a team and we were patient.  However, we fell apart during the second half.  Turnovers killed us.  We didn’t protect the ball, and gave up to many fast break points.”

Earlier in the evening, the CCSC Girls' Basketball Team enured a tough loss to Prospect Hill Academy (9-3), 47-14.

Though PHA scored the first points of the game the team still played with a lot of positive aggression.  There were a total of five turnovers and only a percentile of 17 made field goals.  At the end of the first half the girls trailed PHA by 22 points, 25-3.  However, CCSC started the second half strong by scoring the first points.

Sarah Joseph had an amazing seven rebounds and scored four points.  Tayna Dymski had seven attempted field goals and two were  converted.  The team seized 24 total rebounds in the game.
