Codman Hangs On

Warriors outlast Cougars in final home games

March 9, 2007
by Alyesse Rahman, SSID Staff

The team will be ready for the playoffs on Friday night
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Both CCSC basketball teams had their last home games of the season Friday, March 9th against Codman Academy.  Both teams played well, but had disappointing losses as the girls fell 38-32 and the boys lost 51-37.

The Lady Cougars played an amazing game.  They pulled down a game total of 27 rebounds and they shot 47% from the field.   However, they only shot 22% from the free-throw line and they lacked in the assist category.  The hosts had a game total of 13 steals and only 10 turnovers.

Tanya Dymski had a game total of eight points and three steals.  Nay-Nay Boyd-Haynes had a game total of eight points and led the team in rebounds, with a total of 10.  Rachel Jean-Louis contributed five points and seven rebounds.  Leah Jean-Louis had a season high seven points.

In the second games, the Cougars played with a great determination to win.  They played aggressively with a game total of 43 rebounds and 12 steals. Though both their field goal percentage was low and their turnover rate was high they still played a great final home game.

Bayoan Garcia had a game total of ten points and four steals.  Eshan Syed had a career high game with nine points and ten boards.  Wale Wright had a game total of nine points and seven rebounds.  Overall, it was a good final home event for both teams with an energetic crowd and a pleasing standing ovation at the end of the boys’ game.
