Boys Get First Win

Garcia explodes for 21 points

December 17, 2006

The boys managed their first win on Sunday
HINGHAM, Mass. -- After a tough loss on Friday, the boys' basketball team responded with a solid victory over South Shore Charter on Sunday night.  CCSC opened up the game with six straight points, and extended the lead to 22-11 at halftime.

After the intermission, it was all Cougars as they went on to win 49-24 behind 43% field goal shooting for the game.  Bayoan Garcia continued his strong play of late with 21 points and six assists while Michael Elysee just missed a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds.  Geo Morgan added three blocks for the Cougar defense.

CCSC recorded its first win of the season and the first as a member of the MCSAO.  In addition, everyone was able to get in the game, including 7th grader Daniel Jean-Louis.  The Cougars travel to crosstown rival Prospect Hill on Wednesday evening at the Winter School in Somerville (girls at 6 pm, boys at 7:30).
