Garcia shines

October 9, 2007

Jeffrey Garcia produced five scores in two games this weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- What a weekend for the Patriots, the Red Sox and, of course, CCSC soccer.  The Cougars came right back after their first loss of the year to defeat Academy of the Pacific Rim and Boston Collegiate without allowing a goal in either game.

On Friday, Carl Norgaisse scored two goals while Jeffrey Garcia and Steven Rodenas converted one each.  Ariel Garcia assisted on two goals and Tanya Dymski had one assist.  CCSC had 15 shots on goal and Aaron Velasquez recorded three saves.

Jeffrey Garcia continued his impressive play on Sunday, setting a CCSC game record with four goals.  Michael Elysee added his first score of the season on a penalty kick.  The team had 24 shots on goal, Rodenas had one assist, and Velasquez made two saves.

The Cougars are now 4-1-1 and will next play at Prospect Hill (Danehy Park) this Saturday.
