CCSC's track team sped to the finish line in the first annual Varsity Track Championship last night. Senior, Wislens Exilhomme, stomped out the competition in his final individual event, running the 200 meter in 25 seconds! Daniel Howell and Sosa both ran their fastest times of the season in the 1600! Stephanie Jean-Baptiste and Tawahney Terell both sprinted to the finish and qualified to run in the 100 meter finals earning them both a place in the coveted top six spots overall for the girls 100! Hugh Mesier, Marvin Vital, Daniel Howell, and Senior Wislens Exilhomme finished up the season with a successful finish in the boys 4 X 100 relay event. The coaches would like to officially congratulate all the runners for CCSCs most successful track season yet!!!
The CCSC boys and girls track team had another speedy and successful meet last night against Boston Prep, MATCH, Phoenix, and Prospect Hill. Daniel Howell and Stephanie Jean-Baptiste both qualified for the 100 meter finals with 12.71 seconds for Daniel and14.6 seconds for Steph. Sosa took 1st place in the 1600 meter race, finishing in 6 minutes, 1 second. Yvens Thelusma earned a personal best in the 400 meter, finishing in 1 minute 4 seconds and shaving 7 seconds off his previous record! Tahawney Terell launched herself to the top in the 200 meter, finishing in 30.8 seconds, and running her personal best! Teiona Knight ran her first competitive 400 meter race in 1 minute, 41 seconds andMarvin Vital ran his first competetive 200 meter race in 38 seconds. Hugh, Daniel, Yvens, and Sosa all ran a successful 4 X100 relay!!! Thank you to Richardson our "honorary cougar" for the day for coming out to cheer us on!
CCSC Cougars opened the track season yesterday evening against a competive field. All members of the team ran their hardest through the rain and chilly weather! Daniel Howell placed 3rd in the mile, coming in at 5 minutes, 42 seconds! Wislens Exilhomme, Stephanie Jean-Baptiste, and Tahawney Terrell all made it to the finals for the 100 meter. Hugh Meisier and Robyn Bryan set a personal best in the mile! The lady Courgars took 3rd place overall. Thank you to all those who came to support the team! Next Wednesday will be their next track meet for all those who would like to witness our team in action!
