This course will serve as an introduction to the Spanish language and to the many and diverse cultures of Spanish-speakers around the world. Using the Realidades 1 textbook as our guide, we will learn and practice basic Spanish grammar and essential vocabulary through reading, writing, speaking and listening exercises. We will listen to a wide variety of music in Spanish and you will learn to recognize different styles, rhythms and famous artists. We will learn about the countries of Latin America and about famous artists, athletes and food from Spanish-speaking countries around the world.
