US History II, 2011-2012

CCSC’s 11th-grade US History II course is designed to start preparing students for history courses at the college level. We will be studying the history of the United States from the end of Reconstruction to the Cold War. Do not fear: in this course you will not be drilled to merely memorize dates and facts in an encyclopedic manner. Our focus will be on balancing the factual knowledge and analytic skills that are necessary to think critically about the important problems, questions, and materials in US history. Throughout the course, we will also be developing skills that are essential to any academic course including note-taking, text-based discussion, writing, and research
