The Best Way You Can Help Us is to Support Us!
The Community Charter School of Cambridge is a public charter school. We receive funding from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the students’ sending districts to support our program. This funding must pay for all personnel costs, rent, and materials (books, computers, etc.), but, as with all charter schools, it falls short of funding all our needs.
We have just expanded into a new 10,000 sq. ft. building adjacent to our existing school in Kendall Square to take care of our growing student body. And we really need the help of our friends and neighbors to make the move a success.
Our new building provides space for a fully equipped Science Laboratory that is essential to CCSC’s mission—preparing a diverse middle and upper school student body for postsecondary education, work and citizenship.
CCSC has received a very generous challenge grant as a cornerstone gift for the Science Laboratory in the new building. A Cambridge couple, who wish to remain anonymous, has offered to match up to a total of $10,000 for any gift that meets these criteria:
- Any first-time gift of $1,000 or more;
- Increased gifts from repeat donors who have in the past given $1,000 or more.
The gift you give does not have to support the Science Laboratory. In addition to equipment for the Science Laboratory, there are many other opportunities, large and small, for designated contributions to CCSC’s operations in the new building, ranging from laptops to textbooks in Spanish and engineering. Please look over the list below to identify how you might help support CCSC students
All gifts are tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to the Options for Cambridge Students and mailed or delivered to CCSC, 245 Bent St., Cambridge, MA 02141. You may allocate your gift specifically (see below) or make a general gift to go where the need is greatest.
