CCSC Now Accepting Applications for 2012

Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC), one of the area’s premier college preparatory schools for 7th -12th grade students, is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year in its Lower School program (7th-9th grades).

The Lower School program features a rigorous college preparatory curriculum that encourages gifted students to excel and pushes struggling students to get on track toward success in high school and college.

The CCSC approach is simple: our teachers provide individualized attention to each student and each student is held to extremely high academic standards and expectations. Equally important is the belief that our Lower School student population be an appropriate size - not too large and certainly not too small - for the students we serve.

Located on our Kendall Square campus, the Lower School averages 75 students per grade level, allowing students plenty of peers for study groups, extra curricular activities, and equally important, the opportunity for a large circle of friends. The result is a strong foundation, focusing on preparation for intensive high school level work and success at the collegiate level.

Affirmation of our efforts comes not just from our stellar MCAS results* but also from the letters of acceptance in the mailboxes of our juniors and seniors each Spring. Every student from the Class of 2009 and the Class of 2010 gained admission to college. Admissions included Boston College, Carnegie Mellon University, Case Western Reserve, Cornell University, Swarthmore College, and Tufts University.

Please note: We advise you to apply early. While we are a publicly-funded institution (and like public schools, tuition-free), our school’s private school standards lead us to reach enrollment capacity rapidly.

*Every 10th grade student passed the MCAS. 92% scored proficient/advanced on the English/Language Arts section and 74% scored proficient/advanced on the Math section of the test.
