Information for Parents & Guardians
In his first speech to Congress, President Barack Obama said, "...there is no program or policy that can substitute for a mother or father who will attend those parent/teacher conferences, or help with homework after dinner, or turn off the TV, put away the video games, and read to their child. I speak to you not just as a President, but as a father when I say that responsibility for our children's education must begin at home." The faculty at CCSC strongly believes that being partners with parents and guardians is the only way we can help our students reach their full potential. We value your input and support your commitment to your child's education.
What are 3 things you can do to help your child?
- Check your child’s agenda book every evening and make sure he or she is doing all homework assignments. Call or email teachers right away if you have any questions.
- Check your child’s grades and assignments at PowerSchool for Parents/Guardians. To set up an account please email us.
- Turn off the television or video games or, at the least, limit screen time to 1 hour per day. Each student has a pleasure reading book (DEAR book), so if homework is complete, please have your child read.
