Course 1: Math 7/8

We will review all operations, and learn tricks to do some faster. Mondays often start with hands on projects to introduce a new concept. Tuesdays we transfer from 3-D to paper to further understand the concepts. Thursdays we practice on worksheets, computers, and with real objects in small groups or stations. Every Friday is a quiz on the concept of the week. A ring of index cards will be created and can be used for all quizzes. Participation/Preparation chips are earned. Answers in class that show other learning styles earn red chips. These points are added on to your quiz score for a final quiz grade.

Course 2: Learning Lab for Academic Strategies 7

Strategies for becoming as good a student as you can be will be taught in every class. You will learn to focus, create memory hooks, spell better, use technology to improve your study skills. Each class will have two lessons and use stations. These lessons cover study skills like highlighting, internet research, preview a Humanities class, review a science class. Stations are run for 15 minutes each to give students a chance practice on the typing program, grammar program, cursive writing or math sharks, listen to a book on CD, finish homework. The only homework in this class is practicing for spelling or vocabulary quizzes and improve your program scores.
