Welcome to Ms. Arida's page!  This website will be a source of information for 9.2 and 9.4  Humanities.    A very exciting year is planned and I am looking forward to working with students, parents, and guardians to ensure that everyone has a rewarding year.   Ninth grade Humanities is a world cultures curriculum.  This year we will spend a great deal of time studying American Indian cultures before Columbus, Medieval Western Europe, the Renaissance, and Colonialism and Exploration.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Course 1: Ninth Grade World Cultures and Literature

The modern world did not just appear but rather was built upon the foundation of societies that came before it. Throughout the year we will grapple with the essential questions surrounding human beings, what they believe, and what the impact of these beliefs are.  These questions will be analyzed in the context of studying American Indians, Western Europe during the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the era of European Exploration/Colonization.   We will consider how and why the people and ideas involved in each unit have had such a powerful effect on our lives today.
