Chemistry and Forensics
"An Investigative Approach to Science" |
Welcome to Chemistry and Forensics! This year, we will be discussing various chemical topics ranging from Matter Properties, Nuclear Chemistry and Atomic Structure, Periodicity, Molecular Bonding, Reactions and Stoichiometry, Solution Equilibrium, Acid/Base Reaction, and Thermochemistry. This will be preceded by a brief unit on basic chemical skills needed to succeed in this course. Our overall goal for the year, aside from the content, will be two-fold: through popular college pedagogies, activities, and presentations, we will hone our scientific deductive skills by looking at Chemistry through the scope of Forensics. Hopefully, this course will prepare for college-level science and pique your interest in scientific reasoning. The course will be difficult and challenging (especially during the second semester), but it will also be awesome and I’m sure you guys are up to it!
You can use this site to find all of the important documents and information for the course. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to see these documents.
