News and Announcements

NEW GRADES HAVE BEEN POSTED

January 11th--Your gradekeepers have been updated.  I apologize that it took so long to do.  If you are in Algebra Ia, all revsions and make-up work are due on TUESDAY, JANUARY 16th.  It is your responsibility to see me if you need to make up any mini-quizzes or exams.  The term is ending soon so please be ready.  If you are in Physics and Connections, all revisions and make-up work are due on THURSDAY, JANUARY 18th.  It is your responsibility to see me if you need to make-up any mini-quizzes or exams.

As an added incentive for HW revisions:  If, after revisions are due, there are homeworks that have yet to be completed, you will have a homework detention EVERYDAY until those homeworks are done.  I am here after school for those who need help.

SUPPLIES FOR SEMESTER II

January 11th--Starting next semester, every student in Physics and Connections and Algebra Ia will be required to have:
1 calculator
PENCILS
A binder (SEPARATE BINDERS if you have me for Physics and Connections and Algebra Ia)
4 dividers
One BOUND notebook

Failure to have any of these supplies in class will be a demerit.  If any of these things are a financial burden, see Mr. Parris by January 19th.

THE PHOTO PAGE IS UP!

January 11th--I have finished the page displaying all of my pictures.  Head here to see them all!  Directions on how to save the pictures can be found here as well.  Enjoy!

SABOR MASACOTE PERFORMANCE

January 23rd--As some of you may know, I am a salsa dancer for a company called Masacote Entertainment.  Here is a recording of my most recent performance at the Salsa Fest Noche de Gala at Hyatt Hotel Grand Ballroom in Cambridge.  Sorry, but the resolution isn't the best.  If you can't tell, I'm the guy on the right.  Enjoy!

Physics and Connections

Physics and Connections will be a demanding and rigorous course.  We will survey various physical phenomena over the year, including Newtonian Mechanics, Kinematics, Wave Theory, Heat, Electrostatics, Circuit Analysis, Energy and Momentum, and, if we have a time, an Engineering Exploration.  We will also be discussing real-life applications and historical events in the history of science, to connect this abstract subject to our everyday lives.

Algebra Ia

Algebra Ia will be a very demanding course, both in terms of content and expectations. Throughout the year, we will be discussing topics ranging from Number Theory to Linear Equations. We will also talk about the history of mathematics by discussing famous people and events from the past and in the present.  The key to success in this course will be caring about content and making an effort to understand the material. If we care and try, the course will be very rewarding.
