It was an affinity for mathematics - fostered in her as a young child - that led Ms. Anderson to a career in education.
“As a kid, my dad always taught me tricks and strategies with numbers so that math became a fun puzzle to solve. My love of the subject continued to grow as I got older. Now, I want to share my love for math with my students and help them to feel that they can succeed in math and beyond.”
A graduate of Bowdoin College, Ms. Anderson taught math to 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students at Deep Creek Middle School in Eleuthera, The Bahamas for several years then earned a master’s degree in education from Harvard University before joining the CCSC faculty.
“One of the main reasons I came to CCSC is the school-wide commitment to help open doors to the future for each student,” says the Concord, MA native.
“The best thing about teaching is connecting with students. Middle school students, especially, are energetic, inspired, and hard-working. As a teacher, I have the opportunity to partake in these qualities and help them to see what is possible.”
