About Ms. Morin

For Erin Morin, the best part about teaching at CCSC is sharing her love of reading and writing with her students.

“I love being able to have real discussions about real world issues,” says Ms. Morin. “I like helping kids prepare for college and really think about the adult that they want to become.”

The Pelham, New Hampshire native earned an undergraduate degree in English from Boston College before obtaining her master’s degree in education from Harvard University.

“I think literacy is the key to making positive change, so I have always wanted to be a part of helping kids get there,” says Ms. Morin, who lists Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises among her favorite books.

“I like it because every time I read it, it means something different to me. I didn’t get it at all in high school, maybe a little more in college, and hopefully I will understand more of Hemingway’s nuances even more next time.”

One of her favorite teachers was her own 11th grade English teacher, Mr. Welch.

“He pushed me harder than anyone else and taught me how to write an essay,” she says. “Nothing was outlandishly interesting, but he was a little eccentric and let us share whatever opinions we had.”

She’s incorporated some of his strategy into her own teachings. “I try to make learning fun and engage students in critical thinking about reading, writing and the world around them. I hope my class helps to shape teenagers into students who will be ready to enter college, to be successful and to make change.”
