About Ms. Joslyn Wahl

One could say Ms. Joslyn Wahl has been teaching her entire life.

“I can remember being in kindergarten and taking it upon myself to teach my classmates to read during recess,” she says. “It’s just so exhilarating to see someone suddenly realize they can do something that they weren't able to do before. Plus, teaching helps me to learn better. Every time I teach someone something, I realize that I've become better at it myself.”

For several years, Ms. Joslyn Wahl worked in an after school and summer program in Cambridge called Breakthrough Cambridge, where she helped train college students to become teachers.

“After a while I got frustrated, because I was teaching other people how to be great teachers when I really wanted to do it myself. That's when I decided it was time to leave and pursue my master’s degree in teaching.”

While earning that master’s degree from Tufts University, she gained experience as a teaching intern at Fenway High School in Boston. She’s thrilled to be at CCSC.

“I've admired CCSC for many years,” she says. “While I was working at Breakthrough Cambridge, my colleagues and I were always looking for great schools to send our students to for middle and high school. Right away we noticed CCSC and all the success they were having with students. The students in our program who went to CCSC were often some of the most mature, hard-working kids at Breakthrough. They have their priorities and order and know what it takes to get to college. I wanted to work with students like that.”
