Wellness and Movement (WAM) classes at CCSC provide students with opportunities to enhance their athletic and academic performances mentally, emotionally, and physically. More than just pure physical education, WAM activities and projects teach students how to collaborate effectively, develop leadership skills, increase focus and motivation, and maximize creativity. WAM classes stimulate student interest in all facets of CCSC Athletics, including participation in community exploits and collaboration with the sports information department.
Besides engagment in sports units where classes learn about proper warm-ups, skill sets, and play organization in flag football, basketball, soccer, softball, and ultimate frisbee (among others), students also are taught fundamental aspects of psychology, kinesiology, and nutrition. All students even learn how to play chess!
Students in grades 9, 10, & 11 are able to fulfill the WAM Requirement without taking WAM classes. Click on the link above to learn more.
